BASIC EMERGENCY OBSTETRICS AND NEWBORN CARE (BEmONC)
Basic emergency obstetric and newborn care (BEmONC) is a primary health care level initiative promoted in low- and middle-income countries to reduce maternal and newborn mortality.
Target goals:
1. Training and mentoring to healthcare providers
2. Monitoring, accreditation and licensing through supportive supervision
3. Provision of equipments and supplies
4. Strengthening referral linkages
5. Improving infection-prevention practices
Patient Criteria for BEmONC:
1. Primi (gravida 1) and Grand multigravida (5 and above) are NOT accepted. Only Gravida 2-4 are accepted.
2. Complicated pregnancy NOT accepted.
3. History of complicated delivery and CS NOT accepted.
4. High risk pregnancy and High Risk mothers NOT accepted.
